I’ll Meet You There

I’ll Meet You There

i’ll meet you there
where heaven and earth
come crashing together
meet me there
and we’ll cross the fine line together
i’ll meet you there
far from where the fire burns
and all lives collapse
meet me there
together our hands will clasp

will you come hold me
like you did in better days
when we were the best that friends could be
i’ll find solace in any way
with you gone who am i to forgive
yet there was nothing to apologize for
give me a reason to once again live

i’ll meet you there
where heaven and earth
come crashing together
meet me there
and we’ll cross the fine line together
i’ll meet you there
far from where the fire burns
and all lives collapse
meet me there
together our hands will clasp

i’ve only hurt everyone i know
it’s my apology that ought to be heard
when and why did i get so cold
i could not utter a single word
and you stood with arms out wide
a comforting word and a genuine smile
forgiving me for mistakes i denied

i’ll meet you there
where heaven and earth
come crashing together
meet me there
and we’ll cross the fine line together
i’ll meet you there
far from where the fire burns
and all lives collapse
meet me there
together our hands will clasp

and a day will come
when we’ll be fine
a night so serene
a bond so divine
swept by its great power
at our ankles a blazing fire
towards that place where we’ll be together
where heaven and earth crash towards each other
a light so blinding
a warmth so comforting
forgive for all sins past
make divinity forever last
go gentle into the light
let it overcome you, don’t fight
i’ll hold your hands, together clasped
as all around us the worlds collapse
i’ll meet you there
where heaven and earth meet
meet me there
with solace beneath our feet

  1. Mashallah such a touching poem. I can totally relate to growing into a bitter person that you don’t actually want to be, the world just having that kind of an effect on me. And the way you’ve put the end of the world into gentle words. Love it!

    • thank you 🙂 i am grateful that you are touched. that is the reason why i write, to touch people and to give them a reason to think twice about their lives.

the end is fearful but it is in our hands to make it gentle. find your solace, whether it is in yourself or in a Higher Power. embrace life. it is the only way to survive 🙂

may you always find solace and may you always find strength.
